While you are in Dungeness and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway
you shouldn't miss the Dungeness Lighthouse. To be honest, you can
not miss the Lighthouse with its height of 43 meters.
And if you're driving to Dungeness, don't worry, there is plenty
of space to park.
It's a very short walk from the train station before you find yourself
beneath The Old Lighthouse.
As long as you've got a head for heights and if you’re feeling
fit you can climb the 169 steps to see the giant lens, then out
on to the balcony to catch a glimpse of France if the weather’s
clear.
Fantastic panoramic views at the top will make the climb seem well
worth it. And very important, don't forget your camera.
Opening times:
Open daily May to end of September 10.30-1700. March, April, and
October weekends ONLY 10.30-1700. Also open Bank Holidays, Easter
week, half-term and school holidays.
Admission prices:
Adults £2.20, children £1.20, Family £6. Students
£1.50, OAPs £1.50.
